Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge’s Latest Leak reveals 5.84mm slim chassis, 200MP+12MP Dual Cameras

Before the launch event of the Samsung Galaxy S25, SmartPrix and OnLeaks released CAD renders of the anticipated S25 Slim. However, during Samsung’s Unpacked event, it was revealed that these renders were not accurate, and the designation “Slim” was also misleading, despite Samsung never having officially verified this name. Recently, SmartPrix, in partnership with OnLeaks, has issued a subsequent article clarifying the discrepancies in the initial renders and offering updated information regarding the Galaxy S25 Edge.

What went wrong with the early leaks?

A recent report indicates that Samsung was testing two prototypes of the Galaxy S25 Edge. The leaked images were derived from an initial prototype that included three cameras and a somewhat bulkier design. Nevertheless, Samsung opted for an alternative version—prototype B—which is slimmer and incorporates only two cameras, resulting in a more compact design. Consequently, the earlier renders are no longer representative, as the final design varies in both thickness and camera configuration.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Leak: Thinner design, 200MP Dual Cameras

A previous report indicated that the S25 Slim would have dimensions of 159 x 76 x 6.4mm. However, the latest information reveals that the Galaxy S25 Edge will instead measure 158.2 x 75.5 x 5.84 mm, positioning it as one of the slimmest flagship smartphones to date.

The report further noted that the pursuit of thinner devices often entails certain compromises. In the case of the S25 Edge, its sleek profile results in a noticeable camera bump, which increases the overall thickness to 10mm. To mitigate this issue, Samsung has employed an innovative design strategy; the elongated camera module creates an optical illusion that minimizes the appearance of the bump, allowing it to blend more harmoniously with the device’s frame.

Renowned tipster Ice Universe has mentioned that while he has not yet verified these specific dimensions, he asserts that the device is equipped with a 3,900mAh battery. Additionally, he indicated that the camera configuration features a 200-megapixel HP2 primary sensor alongside a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, without a dedicated telephoto camera. It seems that Samsung is depending on the capabilities of the 200MP HP2 sensor to fulfill all zoom functionalities.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge Specs (Rumored)

Reports indicate that the Galaxy S25 Edge is equipped with premium specifications, featuring an LTPO OLED display that offers a 120Hz refresh rate and a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. The device maintains Samsung’s Armor Aluminium frame and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2.

Although Samsung has yet to officially announce the processor, it is anticipated that the S25 Edge will utilize the Snapdragon 8 Elite, consistent with the other models in the S25 series. Additional expected specifications include 12GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, One UI 7 based on Android 15, as well as 25W wired and wireless charging capabilities.

Expected Launch Date

Samsung is expected to reveal the Galaxy S25 Edge in either April or May of 2025. As additional leaks come to light, further information regarding the definitive specifications and possible compromises will become available.
