First Look: New Xiaomi 15 Ultra Images Leak Before Launch

Xiaomi is preparing to launch the 15 Ultra in China later this month, with February 26 being the speculated date. Following this, the device is expected to debut globally at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in early March. In the meantime, leaked images—reportedly from Xiaomi—provide an in-depth view of the device’s enhanced design and improved camera system.

Design

Xiaomi 15 Ultra immediately captures attention with its almost bezel-free display, featuring quad micro-curves on every side. In contrast to earlier models, this new design offers a more seamless and engaging viewing experience. A discreet hole-punch cutout at the top accommodates the selfie camera, contributing to a sleek and contemporary appearance. The power and volume buttons are conveniently located on the right side for user-friendly access. Although the frame is predominantly flat, it subtly curves at the edges, enhancing grip and comfort during use.

Upgrades In Camera

Xiaomi has significantly upgraded its camera system. The leaked images reveal a prominent camera module that includes four sophisticated sensors developed in collaboration with Leica. The setup features a 50 MP primary sensor, a 50 MP ultrawide lens, and a 50 MP short-range telephoto camera, offering a range of photography possibilities. Notably, the 200 MP periscope lens is particularly impressive, akin to those found in the vivo X100 Ultra and X200 Pro. Users can anticipate improved zoom functionality and superior performance in low-light conditions.

Performance

Xiaomi has incorporated Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC into the 15 Ultra model. While the company has not yet disclosed the specifics regarding RAM and storage configurations, it is expected that the device will offer high RAM and storage capabilities to meet the needs of power users and mobile photography.

As the official launch date draws near, it is expected that additional leaks will emerge in the upcoming days. Considering Xiaomi’s significant participation at MWC, the global unveiling scheduled for March is likely to reveal information regarding pricing and availability.
