Alongside the Galaxy A56, Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy A36 on a global scale. This new mid-range device boasts enhancements in design, camera capabilities, and overall performance. Additionally, similar to the A56, it is one of the first models in the A-series to incorporate Awesome Intelligence (AI).
Samsung Galaxy A36 Specs and Features
The Galaxy A36 features a slightly larger 6.7-inch display, an increase from the 6.6 inches found in its predecessor, now achieving a brightness level of 1,200 nits compared to the previous 1,000 nits. It continues to utilize a Super AMOLED panel with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+.
Samsung has also reduced the device’s weight and thickness, now measuring 195 grams and 7.4mm, while maintaining its IP67 rating for water and dust resistance.
Internally, the A36 is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, manufactured using Samsung’s 4nm process technology. It operates on One UI 7 based on Android 15 and is guaranteed six years of major operating system and security updates, ensuring its relevance until 2031.
Additionally, the device incorporates Awesome AI, which includes features such as Circle to Search, Object Eraser, and AI-generated custom filters. Awesome AI represents Samsung’s branding for specific AI functionalities in its mid-range smartphones, offering a taste of the advanced AI capabilities found in the flagship S-series.
The camera specifications remain consistent with the A35, featuring a 50MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 5MP macro lens. However, the selfie camera has been upgraded to a 12MP sensor, which may appear as a downgrade from the 13MP sensor in the A35, yet it is the same sensor utilized in the Galaxy S24 series.
A robust 5,000mAh battery with 45W fast charging ensures prolonged usage. Connectivity options encompass 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3, NFC, and USB-C, along with support for dual SIM and eSIM functionalities.
