Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 is said to be ‘confirmed’ to feature a notable camera enhancement, bridging the gap between its foldable series and the high-end Ultra models. As reported by GalaxyClub, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 will include a 200-megapixel main sensor, which is believed to be the same one found in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This upgrade represents a significant advancement, promising sharper images and potentially improved performance in low-light conditions.

In addition to the main camera upgrade, the under-display selfie camera is also set to see enhancements. While the source did not verify whether the resolution will exceed 4MP, the previous under-display cameras faced criticism primarily due to their low resolution. Therefore, it’s likely that Samsung will equip the UDC with a higher resolution sensor rather than simply maintaining the same resolution as before.
Not All Camera may see an Upgrade
Not every camera is changing. The ultrawide camera will keep its 12MP resolution, and the telephoto lens will still feature a 10MP sensor, a setup that Samsung has maintained since the Z Fold 4. Additionally, the external front-facing camera will also stay at 10MP.
- 200MP main camera (upgrade)
- 12MP ultra-wide (the same)
- 10MP telephoto (the same)
- 10MP cover screen selfie (the same)
- ‘Improved’ UDC (upgrade)
Even with these consistent specifications, the phone is expected to deliver improved image quality across all lenses, thanks to enhanced image processing capabilities. Reports suggest that Samsung is dedicating considerable resources to refining image processing for the Z Flip 7, and this focus is likely to extend to the larger foldable model as well.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to be unveiled in July alongside the Galaxy Z Flip 7. While there have been rumors about a “tri-fold” version featuring three panels and two hinges, it remains unclear whether this model will launch this summer or be available outside of South Korea.
