Gemini Live Camera and Screen Sharing now Free for all Android Users

Gemini Live has just expanded its camera and screen-sharing capabilities, which were previously available only to Gemini Advanced subscribers and select flagship devices like the Galaxy S25 series. Now, this feature is being made available for free to all Android users. Announced today, it allows you to engage with Gemini about whatever is displayed on your screen or captured by your camera, transforming your phone into a more intelligent companion. The full rollout is expected to be completed in the coming weeks.

Google’s conversational AI, Gemini Live, has received a significant enhancement. Last week, the camera and screen-sharing features began reaching Advanced subscribers, and now Google is inviting all Android users to take advantage of this functionality. Based on initial demonstrations, it appears to be a highly useful addition to your device.

Curious about a recipe you’re viewing or a unique plant you’ve come across? Simply tap the “Share screen with Live” button in the Gemini overlay, confirm your choice, and you’re ready for a quick chat where Gemini can see exactly what you’re referring to. A small counter will appear in your status bar, and you can easily stop sharing at any time through the notification shade. Recently, Samsung introduced a similar feature called “Real-Time Visual AI” for its 2025 flagship models. Check out the video below.

To share your camera feed, navigate to the full-screen Gemini Live interface and press the camera button. A viewfinder will appear, allowing you to toggle between the front and rear cameras. Google recommends keeping your movements steady for optimal results and ensuring your screen remains active during video capture.

This initiative to enhance AI accessibility is a bold step, and we’re eager to see how Android users will utilize these new tools.
