Samsung Galaxy A57 with Exynos 1680 spotted

Samsung is preparing the Galaxy A57 for its mid-range line, with reports pointing to a new Exynos 1680 processor. GalaxyClub recently spotted this chip, which could boost performance and bring noticeable improvements when it launches in 2026.

The Galaxy A-series gets yearly upgrades, and the A57 will replace the A56, released in 2025 with the Exynos 1580. A leak from GalaxyClub suggests the A57’s main processor will be the Exynos 1680, model S5E8865, signifying a step forward in mid-range chips for Samsung. This chip is expected to feature the company’s own Xclipse 550 GPU, possibly based on AMD’s RDNA 3.5 architecture. This architecture is part of the upcoming Exynos 2500, which is rumored to power future models like the Galaxy S26 and Z Flip 7 in many regions.

Performance details for the Exynos 1680 are not yet confirmed. However, it is expected to improve on the A56’s Exynos 1580, which scored around 906,000 on AnTuTu with a tri-cluster CPU (1 Cortex-A720 at 2.9GHz, 3 Cortex-A720 at 2.6GHz, 4 Cortex-A520 at 1.95GHz), according to NanoReview. Rumors suggest a 15-25% increase in speed, with potential AnTuTu scores reaching 1.1 to 1.2 million points. The GPU score could be between 300,000 and 350,000 points.

All these details are not confirmed officially. Benchmark scores will likely appear closer to the phone’s launch. The Exynos 1680 will probably keep using a 4nm process, with a core layout of 1+4+3.

The Galaxy A56 had a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. It included a 50MP triple camera, 45W fast charging, and a 5,000mAh battery. The A57 is expected to have a telephoto lens with 2x or 3x optical zoom, competing with brands like Vivo. It may also support 4K video at 60fps. The expected price in India is around ₹45,990, or about $550. The phone should arrive sometime in the first half of 2026.
