Vivo announced on its Chinese social media that a big launch event will happen on June 25 at 7 p.m. local time. At this event, the company will reveal its new foldable phone and a fresh pair of wireless earbuds. The main focus will be the Vivo X Fold 5, teased with the slogan “lighter and stronger,” hinting at significant improvements in both design and performance.
Vivo X Fold 5: What’s known so far
The Vivo X Fold 5 is expected to be the lightest large foldable phone yet, weighing less than 209 grams. It will come in three colors: Pine Green, White, and Titanium. The phone features a circular camera module with Zeiss branding. Based on official images, the design isn’t expected to differ much from the previous model. However, it does introduce a new physical button on the left side, replacing the old mute switch.

Reports say the X Fold 5 will have an 8.03-inch inner screen and a 6.53-inch cover screen. Both displays will use 8T LTPO panels with high-frequency PWM dimming for better brightness control. The device will carry an IPX9 water resistance rating and an IPX5 rating for dust protection.
The phone is likely powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip and a 6,000mAh battery. It should support 90W wired fast charging and 30W wireless charging. The rear camera setup will include three lenses: a Sony 50-megapixel IMX921 main sensor with OIS, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel IMX882 telephoto lens with 3x zoom. Even with a slim profile—thinner than 5mm when folded—the device aims to deliver strong photo quality.
One exciting feature of the Vivo X Fold 5 is its full support for Apple’s ecosystem. It will allow users to log in to iCloud, connect AirPods with customized animations and controls, and sync health data from Apple Watch through the Vivo Health app.

The launch will also introduce the Vivo TWS Air3 Pro, a semi-in-ear earbud with active noise cancellation. It will come in two versions: one with a long battery life and one standard. The earbuds will be available in Starry Black and Vitality White.
