Over the past few days, Vivo has been dropping hints about the main features of the Vivo X Fold 5 before it launches in China. While it has shared some details, it hasn’t confirmed which chip will run the device. Recently, a new Vivo phone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 appeared on Geekbench. Many think this could be the upcoming Vivo X Fold 5.
Vivo X Fold 5 Geekbench Listing

The device listed on Geekbench has the model number V2436A, which is believed to be the Vivo X Fold 5. Details from the CPU and GPU confirm it uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip. This same processor powered last year’s China-only Vivo X Fold 3.
Compared to rivals like the Oppo Find N5 and Honor Magic V5, which use the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite, Vivo seems to have chosen a different route. The X Fold 5 appears to run on the older Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, probably to keep the price lower.
Geekbench also shows the device has 16GB of RAM and runs on Android 15. It scored 2,270 in single-core tests and 6,913 in multi-core tests.
The Vivo X Fold 5 launches in China on June 25. It features a large 6,000mAh battery and measures only 4.3mm when unfolded. It will be available in three colors: Pine Green, White, and Titanium. The phone is rated IP59+ for water and dust resistance. It can operate normally in conditions as cold as minus 20 degrees Celsius.
For the camera, the device has a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto lens. It supports long zoom and macro shots. Vivo claims that the X Fold 5 can easily connect with Apple Watch, AirPods, iPhone calls, messages, and iCloud. It also supports quick file sharing and works with Mac, making it great for users who switch between devices.
