The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced a special one-day offer to mark the country’s milestone of reaching over 200 million telecom subscribers. On June 20, 2025, all users will be able to get 2 GB of free data and 200 on-net minutes. This free package remains valid for 24 hours and can be activated by dialing *2200# on any network.
Pakistan has achieved a significant milestone in its digital growth. Now, more than 197.7 million mobile users are registered, and over 80 percent of the population has access to mobile services. Broadband subscriptions have grown to 150 million, while fixed-line phone users number about 3.75 million.
A special event will be held at the PTA headquarters in Islamabad to celebrate this achievement. Industry leaders, including mobile network operators, device makers, and government officials, will attend. The focus will be on progress made and plans to expand digital access further across the country.
As part of the celebration, PTA and its partners are launching several initiatives for the public. Mobile operators will offer free voice and data bundles throughout the day. Device makers are also asked to contribute 10 to 15 mid-range smartphones. A lucky draw will be held to give these phones to some attendees.
