Google introduced its first Pixel phone nearly ten years ago in San Francisco. Back then, CEO Sundar Pichai spoke of shifting from mobile-first to AI-first. He said computers should fit our lives. That vision continues with the 10th-generation Pixel phone.
Google has now released its Pixel 10 series smartphones. You can find the full presentation on Google’s YouTube channel. The new phones include the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Google also launched the Pixel Watch 4. New Pixel Buds 2a were also revealed. You can preorder these devices now. They have various release dates.
All models feature hardware upgrades. They also come with new AI software features to save you time.
The Pixel 10 series looks much like the Pixel 9. They share a similar design in new colors. A major change affects phone accessories. All Pixel 10 phones now support Qi2 wireless charging. Unlike some phones, these have built-in magnets. This allows them to work with Qi2 accessories. It also means they can use accessories from Apple’s MagSafe system.
Qi2 offers better wireless charging. It is also faster. This is due to precise alignment from magnets. Apple helped create the Qi2 standard. All iPhones with MagSafe support Qi2. The Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro Fold support 15-watt Qi2 charging. The Pixel 10 Pro XL supports a faster 25-watt Qi2 standard. This means more magnetic accessories will work. Chargers, mounts, and other items will be compatible. They will work with iPhones and Pixel 10 phones.
Google has a few Qi2 accessories launching alongside its new phones. Google’s calling its accessory system “Pixelsnap,” and it includes the Pixelsnap Charger ($40), Pixelsnap Charger With Stand ($70), Pixelsnap Cases, and Pixelsnap Ring Stand ($50).

All four Pixel 10 phones use the new Tensor G5 chip. Google claims it is 34 percent faster. The image processor is improved for better photos and videos. Tensor G5 runs the Gemini Nano AI model. This enables over 20 AI features directly on the phone.
These phones also debut Android’s Material 3 Expressive design. This brings more fluid animations and smoother interactions. The typography is also more prominent.
AI Features (All Models)
The Pixel 10 series introduces a range of new on-device and cloud-based AI features, powered by the Tensor G5 chip and Gemini Nano.
- Magic Cue: A proactive AI assistant that anticipates your needs. For example, it can pull up flight information when you call an airline or suggest sharing a photo when a friend texts you about it.
- Voice Translate: Provides real-time, on-device translation during phone calls. It uses AI to replicate the speaker’s voice and intonation, making conversations feel more natural.
- Camera Coach: An AI tool that uses Gemini to analyze a scene in real time, offering suggestions on composition, lighting, and camera modes to help you take better photos.
- Pro Res Zoom: Available on the Pixel 10 Pro models, this feature uses generative AI to enhance and refine details when zooming up to 100x.
- Ask Photos: An improved Google Photos editing experience that allows you to make complex photo edits using natural language commands, such as “recompose this shot” or “remove that person from the background.”
- Auto Best Take: The AI finds the best expression for everyone in a group photo from a series of shots and combines them into one perfect image.
- C2PA Content Credentials: A new on-device security feature that embeds verifiable metadata into images, creating a record of their origin and edit history to help combat misinformation.
- Circle to Search: Already on previous Pixel models, this feature is enhanced with Gemini on the Pixel 10 to provide more in-depth, contextual search results.
- Gemini Live: Allows for hands-free conversations with the Gemini AI assistant, which can analyze and respond based on what is on your screen, including videos and images.
Pixel Watch 4

Google’s latest smartphones have a new partner. The Pixel Watch 4 is here in two sizes: 41mm and 45mm. This time, Google focused on making it easy to fix. You can now swap out the battery and screen. This is a huge step up from older Google watches, which couldn’t be repaired.
These watches boast a new domed screen. It matches the classic rounded glass design. The screens are brighter. They also have faster, more efficient chips for longer battery life. A new charger gets them to 50 percent power in just 15 minutes. The coolest feature? You can talk to the Gemini voice assistant just by raising your wrist. No need to say a wake word or press any buttons.
Learn more about the Pixel Watch 4 in another article. It includes a special video showing how to replace the screen and battery. The 41mm Bluetooth/Wi-Fi model starts at $349. The 45mm version costs $399. Adding LTE will add $100 to the price. You can preorder the Pixel Watch 4 today. It ships starting October 9.
Pixel Buds 2a

Google introduces another wearable option. The new Pixel Buds 2a are wireless earbuds. They are a follow-up to the 2021 Pixel Buds A-Series. The “a” indicates they are the budget model. Do not confuse them with the Pixel Buds Pro 2 released in 2024.
These earbuds are Google’s smallest and lightest yet. They feature a stabilizer that twists to secure them. The sound design is improved for a more immersive experience. They have IP54 water resistance. A Tensor A1 chip powers them, the same as the Pro version. Active noise cancellation is included. This feature is now common in earbuds at this price point. Enjoy seven hours of playback with ANC on. The USB-C case provides an additional 20 hours. The case does not support wireless charging. The case is designed for repairability. Its battery can be replaced for the first time.
Bluetooth multipoint lets you connect two devices. You can find lost Pixel Buds 2a with the new Find Hub app. Like the Pixel Watch 4, these $129 earbuds are available for preorder. Shipping begins October 9.
Pixel Buds Pro 2 owners will receive a free software update in September. This update adds Adaptive Audio. It automatically adjusts sound based on your surroundings. Loud Noise Protection is also included. If a siren sounds, it will lower the volume. You can still hear traffic sounds for safety. Gemini Live will perform better in loud places. Nodding accepts a call; shaking rejects it. These updates come with a new Moonstone color for the Buds Pro 2. This color launches August 28 for $229.
