Apple has officially announced its next major event for September 9, 2025, at its Apple Park headquarters in Cupertino, California, where it is expected to announce the iPhone 17 series, new Apple Watches, and possibly other devices.

The event is being closely watched to see whether the company can maintain its edge amid rising competition in artificial intelligence. Apple has delayed a major overhaul to Siri, its digital assistant, which was originally intended to bring it in line with rivals like OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini.
Other previously promised AI features are also yet to arrive, so fans are hoping to see an announcement related to AI.
iPhone 17 Air
Reports suggest Apple may introduce a super-slim iPhone model, resembling the MacBook Air in design and naming scheme. While the new device, expected to be called the iPhone 17 Air, may compromise slightly on battery life or camera features, the shift to a sleeker form could reignite consumer interest. It will rival the likes of Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge.
The iPhone 17 lineup will reportedly include a standard model, new Pro versions, and the possible retirement of the Plus variant due to weak sales. According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the iPhone 16 Plus accounted for just 5–10% of Apple’s shipments earlier this year. Kuo also expects Apple to discontinue the Plus model this year.
In addition to the iPhone, Apple is expected to debut new Apple Watch models, which may include health tracking improvements and tighter integration with the iPhone’s AI capabilities. However, no official details have been disclosed.
