Vivo X300 200MP Primary Camera officially confirmed, periscope, ultra-wide camera details tipped

Vivo is getting ready to launch its X300 phone series in China this October. The company is slowly sharing information about these new phones. Today, Vivo’s Product Manager, Han Boxiao, confirmed details about the X300’s main camera. A trusted leaker, Digital Chat Station, also shared key specs for the periscope telephoto and ultra-wide cameras.

Vivo X300 Primary Camera Details

The Vivo X300 will boast a 200-megapixel main camera. This is an updated version of Samsung’s HP9 sensor. Vivo is calling it the HPB, with “B” for Blue, because it’s made just for Vivo.

This large 1/1.4-inch sensor captures 200-megapixel shots at 23mm. It also takes 50MP photos at 50mm. The camera includes optical image stabilization rated at CIPA 4.5 level. Blue glass and a Zeiss T* coating are used. This helps reduce glare and ghosting for clearer pictures. This new sensor replaces the Sony IMX921 used in last year’s Vivo X200.

Vivo X300 Periscope, Ultra-wide Camera Details

According to Digital Chat Station, the periscope telephoto camera will use Sony’s IMX885 sensor. This 1/2-inch sensor is paired with a 70mm lens. It offers 3X optical zoom. Instead of the usual periscope design, it uses a light-folding prism. It can also capture telephoto macro shots.

A 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera completes the setup. Rumors suggest it might use Samsung’s JN1 or JN5 sensor.

For the Vivo X300 Pro, leaks indicate a 50-megapixel main camera. This will be the Sony LYT-828 sensor. It will also feature a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens. The Pro model is expected to have a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera.

Both the Vivo X300 and X300 Pro are anticipated to be the first phones with the Dimensity 9500 chip. Their launch is expected next month, in October.
