Xiaomi phones that will receive four major Android updates

Software support is a key aspect for smartphones, and Xiaomi has done a good job so far. It’s been a reliable brand when it comes to software updates. However, up until last year, when it began promising longer software support for numerous premium and mid-range smartphones, the update policy was satisfactory.

Last year, Xiaomi upgraded its update policy to offer four major Android updates to high-end phones and tablets. Several mid-range models were also fortunate to receive the same treatment. Here, we’ve prepared a list of Xiaomi devices that will receive four major OS updates. Review it below to find out if yours is eligible for longer software support.

Xiaomi devices eligible for four major Android updates

  • Xiaomi 15
  • Xiaomi 15 Ultra
  • Xiaomi 14
  • Xiaomi 14 Pro
  • Xiaomi 14 Ultra
  • Xiaomi 14T
  • Xiaomi 14T Pro
  • Xiaomi Mix Flip
  • Xiaomi Pad 7
  • Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro
  • Poco F7
  • Poco F7 Pro
  • Poco F7 Ultra
  • Redmi Note 14 4G

If your Xiaomi phone or tablet is on the list, you can expect a total of four major OS updates. For example, if it launched with Android 15, it should receive OS updates all the way up to Android 19.

Surprisingly, the sub-$200 Redmi Note 14 4G is also on the list. However, it does not receive the same treatment as its more expensive siblings, such as the Redmi Note 14 Pro and Note 14 Pro+.

Xiaomi has made excellent improvements to its update policy, particularly for newer models. It’s good to see mid-range phones like the Redmi Note 14 (4G) and Poco F7 get longer software support than flagships. Hopefully, more mid-range and cheaper models will benefit from this impressive update policy.

Xiaomi now has a better update policy than OnePlus and Vivo, but it still lags behind many of its rivals. For instance, Realme provides up to six major Android updates, while Oppo and Motorola provide up to five. Samsung and Google promise up to seven major OS updates. By consistently improving its update policy, Xiaomi hopes to close the gap.

The brand is currently busy with the HyperOS 3 release, which was unveiled a few days back. This significant upgrade is available to any device on the aforementioned list. Many of them are also eligible for the HyperOS 3 beta program, which is already live for select models.
