Apple revealed the Watch Ultra 3, its most advanced smartwatch yet. They also announced the Watch SE 3. The Ultra 3 gains satellite connection, a bigger, brighter screen, and longer battery life. New health features include checking for high blood pressure and rating sleep.
Apple Watch Ultra 3 & SE 3 Specs
The Watch Ultra 3 boasts Apple’s biggest smartwatch screen. It uses a new wide-angle OLED panel. This screen has thinner borders and is brighter. The display can stay on at 1Hz. It updates every second. Apple says this makes apps like Stopwatch and Timer feel faster. Watch faces will also look better.
Battery life on the Ultra 3 lasts up to 42 hours with normal use. Low Power Mode extends this to 72 hours. Fast charging is also supported. Fifteen minutes of charging gives you 12 hours of power.
Apple added two-way satellite talks. If you’re away from cell or Wi-Fi, you can text. You can also reach emergency services. Sharing your location is possible too. This feature also updates Find My every 15 minutes. It works with encrypted Messages. Apple includes two years of free satellite service. The Ultra 3 also gets a 5G connection.
New health tools are in the Ultra 3. A system can notify you about high blood pressure. It uses the heart sensor to check blood vessels. It alerts you to signs of constant high blood pressure. Apple thinks this could find over a million cases each year. A new sleep score rates your sleep quality. It tracks how often you wake up, sleep length, and sleep stages.
Workout Buddy is a new feature. It uses Apple Intelligence for coaching. It reviews your fitness history, heart rate, and pace. It gives spoken encouragement during workouts. The updated Workout app has Pacer and Race Route. You can also set up custom views for sports.
The Watch SE 3 also got an update. It now has an always-on display. Fast charging is included. Key health features like sleep apnea alerts are there. Wrist temperature sensing and ovulation estimates are also new. The SE 3 uses the S10 chip. It supports one-handed actions like double-tap and wrist flick.
Both models run WatchOS 26. This brings a new Liquid Glass UI. Smart Stack widgets are better. Live Translation works in Messages. The watch face gallery is new too. The OS uses Apple Intelligence. This powers Siri on the device. Workout Buddy and smart message suggestions also use it.
Apple Watch Ultra 3 & SE 3 Price
The Watch Ultra 3 starts at $799 and comes in natural and black titanium finishes. The Watch SE 3 starts at $249. Both models are available for pre-order now and will go on sale September 19.
Apple also introduced the AirPods Pro 3 at the event, featuring improved active noise cancellation, heart rate monitoring, and real-time translation support.
