On September 22, Qualcomm will introduce its next flagship chip, which is rumored to be the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The majority of its details have already been revealed by previous leaks, and a new one is now completing the performance picture.
The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 receives between 4.20 and 4.40 million points on AnTuTu v11, according to tipster Digital Chat Station. That would make it the highest number we’ve seen for any mobile processor so far on the benchmark.

However, benchmark numbers aren’t just a goal for Qualcomm. MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9500 recently surfaced in a Vivo X300 Pro prototype, scoring 4,011,932 on the same test.
According to earlier reports, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 is expected to feature two prime cores clocked at 4.61GHz, along with six performance cores running at 3.63GHz. Qualcomm is combining the processor with a 1.2GHz Adreno 840 GPU for graphics, which should significantly boost gaming and AI workloads.

The Dimensity 9500 also uses an all big-core setup, with four Cortex-X930 and four Cortex-A730 cores. In addition, Vivo confirmed that the chip will support the SME2 instruction set and that it is collaborating directly with Arm on the design.
In terms of launch hardware, Vivo’s X300 series will be the first to feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500, while Xiaomi’s 16 series is anticipated to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. Later this month, both lineups are expected to arrive.
