Vivo’s upcoming X300 line will feature more than just better chips and cameras. It introduces a new way to connect that targets Apple users. A main feature is a tool like AirDrop. This makes sharing files much easier.
A Vivo executive shared on Weibo that the X300 Pro and its smaller version will launch with Android 16. This will run on OriginOS 6. The X300 Pro uses MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500. Vivo plans it as a strong rival to the iPhone 17. It will have a sleeker look and an improved back camera.
Similar to Apple’s AirDrop, OriginOS 6’s new sharing tool allows wireless file transfer. Users can send files between Vivo phones and Apple devices. Macs and iPads are included. The only need is a Vivo account on both devices. No wires or shared Wi-Fi are necessary. This feature stays within Vivo’s system. However, connecting directly to Apple products is a big step. It helps break down barriers between Android and iOS.
Other phones will also get OriginOS 6. The iQOO 15, with its Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip, gets the same sharing tool. The X300 Pro should have four cameras tuned by Hasselblad. It will also get design updates. The smaller X300 focuses on portability.
Vivo’s X300 series aims to connect different systems. It’s not just about cameras and processors. If its AirDrop-like feature works well, it could attract users who own both Android and Apple products. These users often face compatibility issues.
