Pakistan is Launching Its First National Esports Policy for Gamers

Pakistan is preparing to introduce its first national esports policy and establish a federation dedicated to the gaming industry, signaling a formal move toward supporting one of the country’s fastest-growing digital sectors.

The policy will build a clear system for players, game makers, and other experts in Pakistan’s esports scene. That scene now draws about 60 million gamers across the country.

An official news release quotes Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, head of the Prime Minister’s Youth Program. He says the plan aligns with the government’s effort to encourage young people to develop new tech ideas. He points out esports as a huge global business worth billions. It brings chances in world contests, brand deals, and cash prizes.

Khan notes the government, led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, acts to grow tech options for youth. Esports forms a main part of plans for new ideas and tech growth.

Pakistan has already shown skill in games like Tekken and PUBG Mobile on the world stage. This lays the groundwork for more global involvement. Leaders think the policy will shape that rise and open doors for homegrown players to compete overseas.
