Redmi Note 15 Pro+ Goes Global With Major Hardware Changes

The Redmi Note 15 Pro+, which debuted in China a few months ago, is now available worldwide. While the Chinese model’s core features remain, Xiaomi has made significant changes to the camera system, battery setup, display protection, and overall hardware balance in the global version.

Design and Display

The international Redmi Note 15 Pro+ has a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a peak brightness of 3,200 nits and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, which is the same as the Chinese model. However, the resolution of the screen varies slightly. The global model uses a 2,772 × 1,280 pixel panel, compared with 2,772 × 1,220 pixels on the China-only variant.

Display protection is yet another important distinction. Xiaomi has equipped the international model with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2, replacing the Dragon Crystal Glass used on the Chinese version.

The phone includes an in-display fingerprint scanner, dual speakers, and support for Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res audio. It also supports eSIMs and has dust and water resistance ratings of IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K.

Despite having a smaller battery, the international model is thicker than its Chinese counterpart. The international Redmi Note 15 Pro+ is available in Black, Mocha Brown, and Glacier Blue.

Internals and Software

Both the Chinese and international Redmi Note 15 Pro+ models are powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset. Software remains consistent as well, with the phone running HyperOS out of the box. Configurations with 8GB/128GB, 12GB/256GB, and 12GB/512GB of memory are available.

Connectivity features shared between the two versions include Bluetooth 5.4 and NFC. Additionally, the international model is compatible with Xiaomi’s Offline Communication feature, which enables voice communication between devices over distances of up to several kilometers when there is no network coverage.

Xiaomi has also included its Surge T1S Tuner, which is designed to improve signal performance across Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and cellular connections.

Cameras

One of the biggest differences from the Chinese model is the camera setup. The 50MP main sensor on the Chinese Redmi Note 15 Pro+ has been replaced by a 200MP HPE primary camera on the international model. The new sensor supports 2x and 4x in-sensor zoom and offers five focal lengths ranging from 23mm to 92mm.

An 8MP ultrawide camera remains in place on the international model, but Xiaomi has removed the 50MP telephoto camera that was included on the Chinese version.

On the front, both models share the same 32MP selfie camera.

Battery and Pricing

The specifications of the batteries also vary significantly. The Chinese Redmi Note 15 Pro+ has a 90W wired charging battery with 7,000 mAh. In contrast, the international model uses a smaller 6,500 mAh silicon-carbon battery but supports faster 100W wired charging. Additionally, it supports 22.5W reverse wired charging.

Pricing for the international model starts at $575 for the 8GB/256GB variant, while the 12GB/512GB version is priced at $642.
