Even though the iPhone 17 series has only recently been released, early rumors about Apple’s flagship models for 2026 are already beginning to surface.
A recent leak suggested an unusual hole-punch camera placement for the iPhone 18 Pro models. However, the most recent leak suggests that fans expecting a significant redesign should lower their expectations.
Fixed Focus Digital, a leaker from China, claims that the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are unlikely to undergo any significant exterior modifications. Apple is said to have retained the familiar camera layout and overall design for the rear.
The most recent report casts doubt on the timeline for the rumors regarding the introduction of under-display technology and the elimination of the Dynamic Island.

Realistically, Apple is likely to preserve something “groundbreaking” for its 20th anniversary iPhone, set to arrive in 2027. Therefore, it wouldn’t be too surprising if the 2026 iPhones appear to be a minor redesign in comparison to the newly redesigned iPhone 17 lineup.
Apple is likely to continue using the current pill-shaped cutout design for at least another generation, while the UDC tech it’s known to have been working on for a while gets some final refinement.
That said, this is still very early in the product cycle. Before the iPhones in 2026 enter mass production, a stage when supply chain details typically become clearer, there is still plenty of time. Plans may still change up until that point.
For now, the leak points to another evolutionary update rather than a visual overhaul—something Apple has leaned on repeatedly in recent years.
