According to reports, Apple’s forthcoming iPhone 18 series has begun early prototypes, providing a sneak peek at how the company can improve its display design for upcoming generations.
Instead of a full visual makeover, the information supplied by Digital Chat Station recommends modifications that concentrate on on-screen arrangement and distinction.
iPhone 18 series display details emerge

All iPhone 18 variants are presently being internally sampled, according to DCS. The current Dynamic Island design and a 6.27-inch LTPO OLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz are reportedly features of the regular iPhone 18.
In addition, a 6.55-inch LTPO 120Hz screen is expected to be included in the iPhone Air 2, continuing Apple’s trend toward a lighter and thinner form factor while keeping a recognizable front layout.
The Pro models are anticipated to have the largest display shift. According to reports, 6.27-inch and 6.86-inch LTPO 120Hz panels are being tested for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, respectively.

A portion of the Face ID technology is supposedly moved behind the display by these screens, leaving only a tiny punch-hole for the front camera. For the first time since its debut on the iPhone 14 Pro series, the Dynamic Island area is therefore anticipated to shrink.
Apple may alter its customary launch schedule, according to reports. The corporation could launch its high-end models ahead of the rest of the lineup in the fall.
While the basic iPhone 18 and a potential iPhone 18e may follow in spring 2027, the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and foldable iPhone are anticipated to come in late 2026. The iPhone Air 2 has no set release date.
In terms of hardware, the A20 Pro chip, which is based on a 2nm technology, is expected to make its debut in the Pro versions. Improved picture sensors and a variable aperture system are among the camera enhancements being tested.
When taken as a whole, these improvements indicate that Apple is planning a more clear division between ordinary and Pro iPhones in the upcoming iPhone 18 generation.
