Poco has launched the F7 Pro, a powerful device that sits just below the flagship F7 Ultra. Although it doesn’t quite reach the same level of processing power as the Ultra, the F7 Pro offers an impressive upper midrange experience, featuring contemporary hardware and software support.
Design and Display
The Poco F7 Pro boasts a 6.67-inch AMOLED display that offers FHD+ resolution and a smooth 120Hz refresh rate. With a peak brightness of 1,800 nits, the screen is safeguarded by Gorilla Glass 7i.
For biometric security, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor is embedded beneath the display. Additionally, the phone has an IP68 rating, ensuring it is resistant to both water and dust, meeting the standards expected of flagship devices. The Poco F7 Pro is available in three color options: black, silver, and blue.
Internals and Software
At its core, the F7 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Qualcomm’s previous flagship chipset, and comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. It also features Poco’s VisionBoost D7 graphics chip, which enhances resolution upscaling and ensures smooth frame rates during gaming and HDR video playback.
On the software side, the device operates on HyperOS 2, built on Android 15, and supports Google Gemini along with Xiaomi’s HyperAI suite. Poco promises four years of Android updates and six years of security patches.
Camera
The camera setup includes a 50MP main camera featuring the Light Fusion 800 sensor, which has a size of 1/1.55” and 1.0µm pixels, along with optical image stabilization. It also has an 8MP ultra-wide lens and a 20MP front camera. While not as advanced as the Ultra model, this configuration effectively meets everyday photography needs with good image quality.
Battery and Pricing
The F7 Pro is equipped with a 6,000mAh battery, which is slightly smaller than that of the Redmi K80, the model it closely resembles. It supports 90W fast charging, with efficient power management handled by Xiaomi’s Surge G1 and Surge P3 chips, ensuring long-lasting battery health.
Pricing begins at $499 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant and $549 for the 12GB + 512GB model. Early-bird sales are available until April 10, offering discounts of $50 / €100 / £50 during this promotional period.
