Apple’s highly anticipated foldable iPhone might not hit the market just yet, but a new report has shed some light on when we might see it. This information comes from a reliable source and gives us a glimpse into the company’s intentions for its inaugural foldable device.
Foldable iPhone may debut in Q4 2026
Recent updates come from well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who shared insights on Medium. According to his report, the tech giant based in Cupertino aims to finalize the specifications for its foldable iPhone by the second quarter of this year. However, the actual launch is expected to take place over a year later, with the foldable iPhone likely debuting in the fourth quarter of 2026.

This timing suggests it could coincide with the release of the iPhone 18 series. Kuo also mentioned that the initial production of the foldable iPhone will be limited until at least 2027. He estimates that shipments of Apple’s first foldable device could reach between 3 to 5 million units in 2026, with projections rising to 20 million units in 2027. Given Apple’s reputation for premium pricing, Kuo anticipates the cost will range from $2,000 to $2,500.
The first foldable device from Apple is expected to resemble a notebook-style model, similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 6, though it remains uncertain whether it will be classified as an iPhone or an iPad. There have been various speculations, including Samsung potentially being the main supplier for its display. Another rumor suggests that the primary screen could feature a 7.74-inch inner folding panel, while the cover screen might be a 5.49-inch display. This is the latest information available, so stay tuned for updates!
