Introducing the iPhone Air. Apple’s newest phone redefines thinness and power. It’s only 5.64mm thick. It weighs just 165g. This makes it Apple’s slimmest iPhone ever.

The screen is a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR OLED. It boasts a sharp 2736×1260 resolution. Pixels are packed at 460ppi. ProMotion offers adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz. HDR and True Tone are supported. Outdoor brightness hits 3000 nits. Ceramic Shield 2 guards the front and back. This offers better scratch defense and less glare.
Inside, the iPhone Air has the A19 Pro chip. This chip includes a 6-core CPU. It also has a 5-core GPU. A 16-core Neural Engine is included. Built on 3nm tech, it delivers top performance. Power use stays low. A new N1 chip handles Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. Thread connectivity is also supported. The C1X modem is faster. It is also 30% more efficient than the iPhone 16 Pro’s modem.
iPhone Air runs on iOS 26. This new system features Apple’s Liquid Glass interface. It also brings Apple Intelligence features. Tools like Clean Up help edit photos. Live Translation offers instant language help. Visual Intelligence allows screen-level actions. You can create Genmoji right from the keyboard. iOS 26 also has Call Screening. Hold Assist keeps you updated. A new Apple Games app is also included.

The back camera system has a 48MP Main camera. It supports 28mm and 35mm focal lengths. A 2x telephoto lens is also there. It uses a quad-pixel sensor. Sensor-shift OIS is featured. The Photonic Engine is updated. The front camera uses an 18MP Center Stage sensor. Camera software offers Dual Capture. Focus Control is available. Photonic Engine improvements are also present. You can record 4K60 HDR Dolby Vision video.
Apple states the iPhone Air lasts up to 27 hours for video playback. This is thanks to its new internal design. Fast charging gets you to 50% in 30 minutes. Use a 20W or higher adapter. MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging are supported.
iPhone Air offers IP68 water and dust resistance. Stereo speakers provide great sound. Face ID ensures security. The device uses eSIM only. A new Action button is present. There is also a dedicated Camera Control key. Its titanium frame uses 80% recycled material. This makes it strong and light.
iPhone Air Pricing and Availability
The iPhone Air is available in four colors: Space Black, Cloud White, Light Gold, and Sky Blue. Pricing starts at $999 for the 256GB model, $1,199 for the 512GB option, and $1,399 for the 1TB variant.
Pre-orders begin on September 12, with sales starting on September 19 in more than 63 countries. The device will expand to additional markets from September 26.
At the event, Apple also launched the Watch Ultra 3 and Watch SE 3 with satellite messaging support and upgraded health features, alongside the AirPods Pro 3, which now include improved active noise cancellation, heart rate tracking, and real-time translation capabilities.
