Samsung confirmed its next Exynos 2600 chip is coming. It will be the first 2nm chip on the market. This news was shared during the company’s earnings call. Profits for Samsung dropped more than 50%. However, the Exynos 2600 announcement gained tech world attention.
Samsung Foundry will make the Exynos 2600. It will use a new 2nm Gate-All-Around (GAA) process. This is a big advancement in chip-making. The 2nm GAA process fits more power into a smaller space. This leads to better performance and less power use.
Samsung plans to launch the Exynos 2600 with the Galaxy S26 series. It is expected in the Galaxy S26 Pro and Galaxy S26 Edge. The Galaxy S26 Ultra will likely use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite 2.
A leaked Geekbench listing shows interesting details. The Exynos 2600 will have a 10-core CPU. This is the same number as the Exynos 2500. The core setup is new this time.
- 1 prime core clocked at 3.55 GHz
- 3 performance cores at 2.96 GHz
- 6 efficiency cores at 2.46 GHz
This arrangement should balance power and efficiency. The chip aims for smooth performance. This is true for gaming and multitasking.
The Exynos 2600 also features the Xclipse 960 GPU. Samsung states this GPU is up to 15% faster. It is faster than the Adreno 830 in the Snapdragon 8 Elite. This makes it great for mobile gaming and content creation.
AI performance is another major upgrade. The Exynos 2600 includes better Neural Processing Unit (NPU) features. This means faster on-device AI tasks. Examples include image recognition and better camera functions.
Samsung’s use of the 2nm GAA process gives it an edge. TSMC and Intel are also developing 2nm chips. But Samsung seems set to release its chip first.
Despite financial challenges, Samsung has a strong new chip. The Exynos 2600 offers faster speeds and better power efficiency. It also promises enhanced AI and gaming capabilities.
The launch of the Galaxy S26 series will be the true test. This is expected in early 2026. Until then, the tech world will watch the 2nm chip’s real-world performance. Samsung appears ready to lead mobile processor innovation.
