Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 is shaping up to be the thinnest foldable phone yet, with bezels just 1mm thick. This could beat the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s 1.32mm and Z Fold 6’s 1.9mm bezels, according to leaker Ice Universe. The Z Flip 7 also gets a sleek update, with outer screen bezels at 1.2mm, which means larger displays when the phone is open or closed. Both devices will be the main focus at Samsung’s July 2025 Unpacked event, and the bigger model is expected to cost around $1,899.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 measures 158.4 x 143.1mm when open. It’s taller and wider than the Z Fold 6, with an 8.2-inch inner AMOLED screen instead of 7.6 inches. Posts from @TheGalox_ on X add that it will feature a 200MP main camera and a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip. These updates aim to make it look more like a flagship phone.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 isn’t left behind. Its outer screen bezels are reduced to 1.2mm, which allows for a bigger 4-inch cover display. That’s up from 3.4 inches on the Z Flip 6. The inner screen also gets larger, now 6.85 inches instead of 6.7 inches. The folded design is thinner at 6.9mm. Both phones will run on One UI 8 with Android 16. They aim to look more premium with fewer creases and an IP68 water resistance rating.
While the Fold 7 might earn the title of “slimmest” foldable similar to the S25 Edge, the 4,400mAh battery feels small for 2025. Many Chinese phone companies use high-density silicon-carbon batteries, which can add more capacity without making the phone thicker. Samsung could have done the same but didn’t.
Will these slimmer bezels and larger screens make Samsung’s foldables unbeatable? Or are rivals like Oppo’s Find N5 catching up? We can’t wait to see what’s next.
