Galaxy Z Fold 8: This might be the first look at Samsung’s crease-less foldable

What appears to be Samsung’s upcoming foldable phone has been leaked by a well-known source. There is a very slight crease on the device’s display, which may also be what Apple uses in its first foldable.

The tech giants are showcasing their newest and best gadgets at CES. The public may have just seen Samsung’s upcoming foldable, a crease-free flagship that will usher in a new era of folding smartphones.

Samsung is also present on the show floor. The next generation folding phone’s release date and whether it is actually the next Z Fold phone have not been disclosed by the firm.

Samsung appears to have a prototype foldable on exhibit that resembles the current generation flagship foldable with one obvious exception, according to Sammobile via Max Jambor from the CES 2026 show floor.

Two phones are shown in the kiosk’s open (unfolded) configuration; the phone on the left appears to be the Galaxy Z Fold 7, while the phone on the right is an unidentified gadget with the similar form factor.

The phone on the right is positioned beneath the “Advanced Crease-less” branding, and it does not appear to have the noticeable central crease that is typical of modern foldables.

The little video that Max posted on X is included above. It appears to be quite smooth overall, although there is a slight bend in the center of the display that can be seen when the light reflection angle changes. It is thought that Samsung would use this display in the Galaxy Z Fold 8.

Samsung is reportedly working on this new folding OLED technology for Apple’s first foldable, thus it is possible that the Apple device will use the same display, but with a different aspect ratio and dimensions.

Regarding release dates, a new Samsung foldable is anticipated to debut in July of this year, while the Apple foldable may appear a little later, most likely in 2026.
