Redmi has expanded its global Note 15 lineup with the launch of five new models. The Redmi Note 15 Pro and Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G are among them. They are incremental upgrades over the devices from last year and feature larger batteries, new displays, and refreshed chipsets.
The international Redmi Note 15 Pro has some advantages and disadvantages over the Chinese model, particularly in terms of camera resolution and battery capacity.
Design and Display
A larger 6.83-inch AMOLED panel with a 1.5K resolution of 2,772 x 1,280 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate is used in the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G. The standard Note 15 Pro comes with a slightly smaller 6.77-inch AMOLED display offering FHD+ resolution at 2,392 x 1,080 pixels, also with a 120Hz refresh rate.
Both panels support 12-bit color depth and reach up to 3,200 nits of peak local brightness. The Note 15 Pro 5G offers touch sampling at a rate of 480Hz, whereas the Note 15 Pro is limited to 240Hz, a difference that should not be obvious to the naked eye.
Durability has also been improved. The Redmi Note 15 Pro now carries an IP65 rating, up from IP64 on its predecessor. With IP68 and IP69K certifications, the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G surpasses last year’s IP68 protection.
The Redmi Note 15 Pro is available in Titanium, Glacier Blue, and Black color options. The Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G comes in Titanium, Glacier Blue, Mist Purple, and Black.
Internals and Software
Redmi has equipped both phones with updated MediaTek processors. The Redmi Note 15 Pro runs on the Helio G200 Ultra, while the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G is powered by the Dimensity 7400 Ultra. Both chipsets offer enhanced neural processing capabilities and modest CPU clock increases.
There are still a lot of configuration options for memory and storage, with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of internal storage available.
On the software side, both devices ship with HyperOS 2.0 based on Android 15. AI Erase Pro, AI Remove Reflection, AI Image Expansion, and AI Image Enhancement are all included from Xiaomi.
Cameras
Camera hardware remains largely unchanged. The main camera on both models is a 200 megapixel Samsung ISOCELL S5KHPE. The Note 15 Pro 5G has an 8MP OV08F10 ultrawide camera, whereas the Note 15 Pro has an 8MP GC08A8 unit. This slight difference can be seen in the ultrawide camera.
The Chinese model’s main 50MP sensor has a lower resolution, but the 20MP selfie camera is the same.
Selfie cameras vary between the international 4G and 5G models. The front-facing camera on the Redmi Note 15 Pro is a 32MP OV32D40 unit, whereas the camera on the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G is a 20MP OV20B unit.
Battery and Pricing
The lineup’s battery capacity has increased. The Redmi Note 15 Pro has a 6,500 mAh battery and can be charged wirelessly with 45W. The Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G goes slightly larger with a 6,580 mAh silicon-carbon battery, slighty smaller then the 7000 mAh in the Chinese model, also supporting 45W wired charging.
On both models, reverse wired charging is now supported. The Note 15 Pro has a maximum output of 18W, while the Note 15 Pro 5G supports faster reverse charging at 22.5W.
The 4G model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage costs $466, while the 512GB model with 8GB of RAM and 533GB of storage costs $533. The 5G variant pricing starts at $333 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant.
