Google launched its Pixel 10 phones last month. This lineup features the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro, Pixel 10 Pro XL, and the Pixel 10 Pro Fold. Sales began in late August. The Pixel 10 Pro XL 5G starts at $1,199 for 256GB of storage and 16GB of RAM. The 512GB model costs $1,319.
Zack from JerryRigEverything recently took the Pixel 10 Pro XL apart. His YouTube video revealed the phone’s inner workings. It showed how Google has improved the device’s repairability.
A key improvement is the battery. It’s much simpler to remove than in older Pixel phones. The teardown also showed that most parts are accessed from the back. The screen can be replaced from the front. It only has one cable connecting to the main body. This means swapping the screen should be straightforward.
Zack liked these changes. However, iFixit, a repair guide company, had a different view. They agreed there were upgrades. But they felt the improvements were not as big as they seemed. Still, they welcomed the easier battery removal.
