Google is adding many new features to Gemini Live. This AI assistant lets you have live conversations. Next week, Gemini Live will highlight items on your screen during video calls. This helps the AI assistant point things out clearly.
For example, if you need help finding a tool, point your phone camera at some tools. Gemini Live will then show you the right one on your screen. This feature comes out on August 28th on the new Pixel 10 phones. Google will start sending this visual help to other Android phones then. It will also come to iOS in the next few weeks.

Google is also adding new ways for Gemini Live to work with other apps. You will soon be able to use it with Messages, Phone, and Clock. Imagine you are getting directions from Gemini and realize you are late. Google says you can tell the chatbot, “This route is fine. Send Alex a message saying I’ll be ten minutes late.” Gemini can then write the text for you.

Finally, Google is releasing a new audio model for Gemini Live. The company states that it will significantly enhance how the chatbot utilizes speech elements. These include tone, speed, and pitch. Gemini will soon change its voice based on your conversation. It might use a calmer voice for stressful topics.
You will also be able to adjust how fast or slow Gemini speaks. This is similar to how users can change ChatGPT’s voice style. Additionally, if you ask a Gemini to retell a story as a character, they might use an accent for a more immersive experience.
