Pakistan has granted its first license for Blockchain-enabled High Performance Computing to Higgs Computing Limited’s data center. This move marks a significant step in the country’s push to improve its digital systems.
The license was awarded by the Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA), a government agency. The project is supported by major organizations, including the Ministry of IT and Telecom and the State Bank of Pakistan.
This HPC project combines Blockchain, Artificial Intelligence, and Big Data. It aims to attract large investments and bring in $1.5 to $2 million in foreign currency each year.
The new data center will start with 7 megawatts of power, using excess electricity efficiently. Officials say Blockchain will improve security and transparency in digital transactions.
Many see this as a major change and a step forward for Pakistan’s tech plans and economic growth.
