iPhone 17e Specifications (rumored)

DCS shared supply chain details. They say the iPhone 17e gets a 6.1-inch OLED screen. It will likely use the same 60Hz panel as the iPhone 16. The Dynamic Island design should return. Apple’s A19 chip will power it.

The front camera will be 12 megapixels. It will include 3D face recognition. The back camera might be 48 megapixels. The overall design could see big changes, but the biggest highlight of the iPhone 17e could once again be its positioning as the most affordable iPhone in the lineup.

iPhone 16e receives a good reception

iPhone 16e

According to a research report from Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) for June 2025 report shows the iPhone 16e sold well. This was its first full quarter. Apple launched it in February. It replaced the older iPhone SE. The 16e proved much more popular. It met the buyer’s needs.

The iPhone 16e attracted SE users. It also pulled buyers from older phones. Older models like the iPhone 15 and 14 saw fewer sales. In June 2025, the 16e was 11% of US iPhone sales. This doubled the SE’s 5% share a year earlier. Older models dropped from 28% to 15% of sales. The 16e changed Apple’s budget phone market.

Given the 16e’s success, the iPhone 17e should also appeal. It will likely be Apple’s most affordable iPhone.
