Leaks Hint at a New OnePlus Flat-Screen Beast With Massive Battery

According to a January 13 report from reliable Weibo source @DigitalChatStation, OnePlus may be considering a new mid-size performance-focused smartphone.

Although the brand is not specifically mentioned, the report references a “Jiajia” factory testing a 6.59-inch 1.5K LTPS flat panel, which is generally thought to be for an upcoming OnePlus handset.

In keeping with OnePlus’ current trend toward flat-screen designs, the display is said to have big, rounded corners and visually equal bezels on all four sides.

Instead of Samsung, a domestic Chinese provider is said to be the source of the screen. Instead of emphasizing its size, the phone is marketed as a “mid-screen performance phone,” implying a balance between power and usability.

A 6.59-inch form factor can accommodate 8,000mAh-class batteries, whereas larger 6.78-inch phones find it difficult to scale as effectively, according to battery conversations linked to the leak.

This is consistent with previous claims of a OnePlus engineering prototype with a 6.78-inch 1.5K 165Hz LTPS flat screen and batteries that start at 8,000mAh, with internal targets apparently exceeding 9,000mAh.

If released, this gadget might fall between the Nord and Ace series, catering to consumers seeking powerful performance and extended battery life in a small package.

The action also reflects a broader trend, since companies like Redmi, iQOO, and Realme are already promoting performance phones with flat screens and enormous batteries.
