POCO F7 Gets One Step Closer to Global Launch, Certified by Sigapore’s IMDA

Xiaomi’s Poco F7 is set for a worldwide release in spring 2025. It follows the Poco F7 Pro and Ultra but leaks indicate its battery will be reduced to 6,500mAh from the 7,550mAh found in its Indian and Chinese versions. Certified in Singapore, this rebranded Redmi Turbo 4 Pro will feature a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor and a bright AMOLED screen.

The Poco F7 lineup is growing. The base model, Poco F7, was certified by Singapore’s IMDA under the code 25053PC47G, pointing to a global launch. It was initially thought to be only for India after BIS certification (model 25053PC47I). But now, it appears it will be sold in many markets as a version of the Redmi Turbo 4 Pro. The main difference? Its battery size drops to 6,500mAh for the global version. Meanwhile, Indian and Chinese models keep a larger 7,550mAh battery. Xiaomi tends to make similar regional changes, like with the Poco X7 Pro, which has a 6,000mAh battery worldwide but 6,550mAh in India.

The Poco F7 is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip. It features a large 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and brightness up to 3,200 nits. It is expected to keep 90W wired charging and a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization. The battery decrease could be for cost reasons or legal reasons. Still, the phone should stay affordable at around $300 to $400, based on the Poco F6’s price of about $379. It faces strong competition from models like the iQOO Z10 Turbo.

Looking back, the Poco F6 had the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor. It had a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a top brightness of 2,400 nits. The screen was protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. Its body was mostly plastic. It also had a 5,000mAh battery with 90W charging. The main camera was 50MP with an 8MP ultrawide lens. A fingerprint sensor sat under the screen.

After launching the Poco F6 along with the F7 Pro ($499) and Ultra ($649) in March, the F7’s expected debut in May could shake up the mid-range market. Its smaller battery might bother some buyers, but the bright display and strong processor could still make it popular. Only time will tell how well it does.
