Twitter, now called X, is once again open in Pakistan after being blocked for a year. People can use it on their phones or computers without a VPN.
News about X being available started spreading a few hours after midnight. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) officially said the app is no longer blocked.
This change came soon after clashes between India and Pakistan increased. India launched missile attacks on areas like Bahawalpur and Muzaffarabad. Pakistan responded by shooting down several Indian fighter jets.
The attacks caused 26 deaths and injured 46 people, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). Civilians and religious sites, such as mosques, were hit, leading to serious damage and casualties.
The Pakistan government’s National Security Committee (NSC) has given the armed forces permission to strike back. In a statement released today, officials made their stance very clear.
In consonance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, Pakistan reserves the right to respond, in self-defense, at a time, place, and manner of its choosing to avenge the loss of innocent Pakistani lives and blatant violation of its sovereignty.
