Qualcomm has revealed the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 (model SM7750-AB), the newest chip in its mid-range lineup. Built with a 4nm process, it replaces the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 from 2023. This update offers clear boosts in CPU, graphics, and AI speeds.
CPU and GPU Architecture
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 has a new Kryo CPU setup in a 1+4+3 pattern. It includes a main core at 2.8GHz, four cores for performance at 2.4GHz, and three efficient cores at 1.8GHz. Qualcomm says the new design provides a 27% increase in CPU power over the older version.
The Adreno GPU in this chip is about 30% faster. It supports several high dynamic range formats, like HDR10, HDR10+, HDR Vivid, and HLG. Qualcomm added parts of its Adaptive Performance Engine 4.0 to keep frame rates steady and improve responsiveness during longer use.
AI Processing and On-Device Capabilities
The Hexagon NPU has been upgraded, giving AI tasks a 65% jump in speed. This allows the chip to handle more advanced AI tasks at home, like running local versions of models such as Stable Diffusion 1.5, without needing the internet.

Memory, Imaging, and Video Support
The processor works with LPDDR5 memory and UFS 4.0 storage, matching the speed of high-end phones. Qualcomm also included a triple 12-bit Spectra ISP that can take still photos up to 200MP. It supports 10-bit photo output and 4K videos at 30 frames per second.
Connectivity and Wireless Support
The Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 has a 5G modem that works on sub-6 GHz networks, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.0. It also features Qualcomm’s XPAN tech for better personal networks. For sound, it supports aptX Lossless and aptX Adaptive, which boost wireless audio quality.
Availability
Brands like Honor, Vivo, and Realme say they will soon release phones with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4. These models should arrive in the next few months. No official details on exact launch dates or specific models have been shared.
