Realme GT 8 Pro Leak Reveals 200MP Periscope Camera, 7,000mAh Battery

Samsung has introduced three new smartphones in its Galaxy A series in the country, sparking interest in how other brands will respond. Realme, a prominent player in the smartphone market known for its diverse range of devices, launched its impressive GT 7 Pro in China last November, followed by a global release. Now, attention turns to its upcoming successor, the GT 8 Pro, which is reportedly in development.

Recent leaks suggest that the Realme GT 8 Pro will feature the yet-to-be-announced Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset and will sport a metal frame along with a “2K” resolution display. A standout feature of this device is expected to be its ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner.

Moreover, the smartphone is set to house a remarkable 7,000 mAh battery, which is quite substantial. Chinese manufacturers are increasingly focusing on devices with larger batteries, but these will also require fast charging capabilities to minimize downtime.

However, reports indicate that the charging speed for the GT 8 Pro may be slower than that of the GT 7 Pro, with a comparison of 100W versus 120W. We remain hopeful that the phone will support 120W charging, although no official details have been released yet.

Regarding the camera setup, the leaks have not specified the total number of cameras, but it is known that the device will include a 200MP periscope telephoto camera. We anticipate that the phone will feature at least three cameras on the back, with more information about their specifications expected in the coming months.

If Realme maintains a similar launch schedule as it did for the GT 7 Pro, we can expect the GT 8 Pro to debut in the fourth quarter of 2025. Meanwhile, Realme is set to unveil the GT 7 in China on April 23, with plans to launch it in Pakistan by the end of next month.
