Xiaomi has officially announced the launch date for its upcoming budget smartphone, the Redmi A5. This model is scheduled to make its debut in the Indian market next week, featuring a large battery, a smooth display, and several other impressive features. So here’s what we know.
Redmi A5 on April 15
The Chinese tech company revealed that the Redmi A5 will be launched on April 15, 2025.
This announcement follows the phone’s earlier release in the global market this month. According to the teaser, the Redmi A5 boasts a tall 6.88-inch LCD display with HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate, along with an 8MP front-facing camera. On the back, it is equipped with a 32MP camera.
Powering the Redmi A5 is a robust 5,200mAh battery that supports 15W wired fast charging. Inside, it features the UNISOC T7250 SoC. For added security, there is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. While the official pricing has yet to be announced, it is expected that the smartphone will be priced below INR 10,000. Additionally, the Redmi A5 will be available in three color options: Pondicherry Blue, Just Black, and Jaisalmer Gold.
This is the latest information we have, but the global release has provided many details. The Redmi A5 will run on Android 15 Go Edition, and include 4GB of virtual RAM expansion, a dedicated microSD slot, dual SIM capability, dual-band WiFi, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and Bluetooth 5.2 support.
