When will Samsung release One UI 8 (Android 16)?
Samsung wants to avoid the delays that hit One UI 7. That’s why they may skip smaller updates like One UI 7.1 and 7.1.1. Instead, they plan to release One UI 8 directly. This move could restore their reputation for long-term, timely updates.
Samsung hasn’t announced the exact date for One UI 8. However, rumors suggest the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 will come with One UI 8 right out of the box. These devices may launch around July or early August 2025.
Google confirmed Android 16 will arrive in the second quarter of 2025. That means before June. Some reports say it might arrive as early as May. Android 16 will come sooner than recent years, leaving less time for Samsung and others to prepare. The One UI 8 beta might launch around July 2025, but that’s not certain, especially with recent Samsung issues.
