Samsung Galaxy A26 Debuts with Six Years of Updates, Exynos 1380 inside

Samsung has recently introduced its newest A-series collection, with the Galaxy A26 being the most budget-friendly option available. Launched in conjunction with the Galaxy A36 and A56, it incorporates several essential features found in its more expensive counterparts, such as IP-rated water resistance, extended software support, a substantial battery, and AI-enhanced functionalities. However, there are notable compromises as well. Let us examine the details.

Galaxy A26 Specs

The Galaxy A26 features a 6.7-inch OLED display that boasts a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. A prominent aspect of its design is the waterdrop-style notch, a characteristic that Samsung typically reserves for its more economical A-series models, such as the A16 and A06, rather than utilizing a hole-punch cutout.

Within this notch is a 13MP front-facing camera, while the rear of the device is equipped with a triple-camera configuration: a 50MP primary sensor with optical image stabilization, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro lens.

The device is powered by Samsung’s proprietary Exynos 1380 chip, the same processor utilized in the previous year’s Galaxy A35. It is available with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and offers up to 256GB of internal storage, along with the capability for microSD card expansion.

The A26 is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery, similar to the A36 and A56, although it supports a slower charging rate of 25W.

Despite being the most affordable option among the trio, the A26 does not compromise on software support. It comes pre-installed with One UI 7 based on Android 15 and is guaranteed the same six-year update commitment as its more expensive counterparts. This also includes access to Samsung’s “Awesome Intelligence” AI features, such as Circle to Search and Object Eraser.

Additional noteworthy features include an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, and a microSD card slot.
