Samsung Galaxy A56 brings 45W charging, a new Exynos chip, and “Awesome Intelligence” AI

Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy A56, featuring a redesigned exterior, enhanced 45W charging capabilities, and the proprietary Exynos 1580 chipset. However, the standout aspect of this release is its focus on artificial intelligence, which Samsung refers to as Awesome Intelligence.

While Samsung has been emphasizing AI functionalities in its flagship models, such as the Galaxy S25 Ultra under the Galaxy AI branding, the A56 presents a distinct version of this technology.

According to Samsung, Awesome Intelligence represents the first all-encompassing mobile AI specifically designed for the Galaxy A56 5G. Nevertheless, it is important to note that this does not encompass the entirety of Galaxy AI, as certain advanced features remain exclusive to higher-end models.

What Awesome Intelligence (AI) features does the Galaxy A56 get?

The Galaxy A56 still packs some of the most hyped AI tools, including:

  • Circle to Search, a Google-powered feature that lets you search anything on-screen with a simple gesture.
  • Best Face, which allows you to choose the best facial expressions for up to five people from a motion photo.
  • Object Eraser to remove unwanted objects from photos.
  • Filters, which let you generate custom filters based on the colors and style of your images.

All these Awesome Intelligence features are integrated into One UI 7, which is based on Android 15. And Samsung is offering a flagship-level software support promise for the phone, ensuring six years of Android upgrades and security patches.

A new Exynos chip, A Vapor Chamber, and a Brighter Display

At the core of the Galaxy A56 lies the Exynos 1580 processor, complemented by 8GB of RAM and storage options of either 128GB or 256GB. Samsung has incorporated a substantial vapor chamber to enhance thermal management within the device.

The smartphone is equipped with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display that offers an FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120Hz. It achieves a brightness level of 1,200 nits in HBM and peaks at 1,900 nits, all safeguarded by Gorilla Glass Victus+. The rear panel also features Gorilla Glass Victus+, while the frame is constructed from aluminum.

The Galaxy A56 showcases a subtle design update from its predecessor. Unlike the Galaxy A55, which had distinct camera rings, Samsung has opted for a pill-shaped module that accommodates all three lenses: a 50MP f/1.8 primary camera, a 12MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera, and a 5MP f/2.4 macro camera. Additionally, there is a 12MP f/2.2 camera for selfies located on the front.

Powering the device is a robust 5,000mAh battery that supports 45W fast charging, marking it as Samsung’s first non-flagship model to offer this capability. According to Samsung, the battery can charge from 0 to 100% in a mere 1 hour and 8 minutes.
