Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 is Somehow Just as Durable as Z Fold 7

Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 7 endured its first durability test. JerryRigEverything performed the test. This follows the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s recent review. The main question is whether the thinner 2025 flip phone is as strong as the Z Flip 6. Last year’s model survived a bend test.

Scratch Resistance and Glass Durability

The Z Flip 7’s outer screen and back use Gorilla Glass Victus 2. It showed minor scratches at Mohs level 6. Deeper marks appeared at level 7. This is expected for a glass screen.

The inner folding screen is still less tough. Like past foldables, softer things can scratch it. Its flexible nature causes this. Fingernails or objects from Mohs level 2-3 will scratch it. This is similar to the Galaxy Z Fold 7.

Dust Proofing

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 keeps its IP48 rating. This means it resists water. It also blocks larger dust bits, about 1mm. Fine dust got into the hinge during the test. It made slight grinding sounds. The phone still worked fine.

Bend Test Results

Despite a slimmer design, the Z Flip 7 successfully passed the bend test. When force was applied in the opposite direction of its fold, the phone withstood the stress without structural failure.
