Samsung is building anticipation for its new foldable phones. The company recently shared a teaser video suggesting the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold7. The clip features a book-style fold, which points to the Fold series rather than the Flip.
The official reveal of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected during Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event. Rumors suggest this may happen in July, likely in New York.
Samsung Teases Galaxy Z Fold7: Will it be the Thinnest Foldable?
In a blog post on Tuesday, Samsung described its new foldable as the “thinnest, lightest, and most advanced” Galaxy Z device to date. The post offered a sneak peek of the phone, emphasizing its slim design and foldable features. Samsung aims to provide an “Ultra-level” user experience with this model.
The company has made improvements by making the device slimmer, lighter, and more durable than previous versions. Reports suggest the Galaxy Z Fold 7 may measure only 3.9mm when unfolded and 8.9mm when folded. If accurate, it would be thinner than the Galaxy Z Fold 6, which is 5.6mm unfolded and 12.2mm folded.
Compared to other foldables, Samsung’s new model stands out. Oppo’s Find N5 is 4.21mm unfolded and 8.93mm folded. Vivo’s upcoming X Fold 5 is expected to be 4.3mm when unfolded and 9.33mm when folded. This means the Z Fold 7 might be the slimmest among foldable phones.
Along with the Fold 7 and Flip 7, Samsung is working on a Fan Edition (FE) of the Galaxy Z Flip 7. This version is likely aimed at offering a more affordable foldable option.
As the launch nears, more leaks and teasers will probably emerge. Fans can expect improvements in design, speed, and features. The July event is shaping up to be a big moment for Samsung’s foldable lineup.
