Starlink Gets NOC to Launch in Pakistan and Internet Package Details

In a noteworthy update, the Pakistan Space Activities Regulatory Authority (PSARA) has granted a No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Starlink, indicating that the company has fulfilled all necessary regulatory criteria, as reported by sources.

After receiving approval from the Ministry of Interior, the PSARA issued the NOC, allowing Starlink to commence its operations in Pakistan.

According to Our Sources, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) is expected to issue licenses to Starlink within the next two weeks, as the company has already submitted its application for licensing.

Starlink has shared its technical and business strategies with the PTA and has successfully navigated through three registration phases in Pakistan. The company has secured registration from the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), in addition to registering with the PSARA.

The final hurdle is obtaining registration from the PTA, which will enable the company to launch its services. The PTA is currently assessing the documents provided by Starlink to ensure that its services will not interfere with the existing network.

In 2023, Pakistan introduced its National Satellite Policy, followed by the implementation of Space Activities Rules in 2024 to bolster space communication within the country. With these advancements, Starlink is set to significantly improve internet connectivity throughout Pakistan, ushering in a new chapter in the nation’s internet landscape.
