Tecno Officially Reveals Spark 40 Pro+ chipset nearly two months before launch

MediaTek has announced its new Helio G200 chipset, which is set to debut inside Tecno’s upcoming Spark 40 Pro+. This will be the first device to feature the G200. The Spark 40 series is expected to launch worldwide in July.

Although the G200 doesn’t support 5G, MediaTek is focusing on making 4G better. The chip has an octa-core setup with two Cortex-A76 cores running at 2.2GHz for performance. It also has six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz for efficiency.

Helio G200 in Spark 40 Pro+ delivers 10% improvement

Tecno claims the G200 scores around 470,000 on AnTuTu, about 10% higher than the previous chips. The graphics also see a small boost. The Mali-G57 MC2 GPU now runs at 1.1GHz, up from 1.0GHz on the G99 and G100. Tecno says this results in about a 10% boost in GPU performance for single-core tasks.

A key feature is support for DC SAR, short for Dynamic Communication Smart Adaptive Response. This feature helps improve network stability and performance in weak signal areas.

Overall, the Helio G200 doesn’t bring big changes from older chips like the G100 or G99. We have an article explaining how these chips compare. You can check it out for more details.

Tecno hasn’t revealed all the specs for the Spark 40 Pro+ yet. With about two months to launch, the company will likely start sharing teasers soon. We will keep watching and share updates as new details come out.
