A few days ago, news broke that Xiaomi was developing its processor. Now, the company has officially launched its in-house chip, the Xring O1, along with the new Xiaomi 15S Pro flagship. Creating a chip from scratch is complex, but Xiaomi has managed to do it successfully. This allows Xiaomi to challenge companies like Qualcomm and MediaTek. Let’s review the key specs of the new device and its processor.
Xiaomi 15S Pro with In-House Xring O1 Chipset
The Xiaomi 15S Pro closely resembles the Xiaomi 15 Pro. The Xring O1 chip inside marks a big step forward for Xiaomi. It was designed and built by Xiaomi and manufactured using TSMC’s second-generation N3E 3nm process. The chip features a ten-core CPU. It has 2 Cortex-X925 prime cores running at 3.9GHz, six Cortex-A725 performance cores between 1.9 and 3.4 GHz, and two Cortex-A520 efficiency cores at 1.8 GHz.

The processor also includes a 16-core ARM Immortalis-G925 GPU and a 6-core NPU rated 44 TOPS. Xiaomi shared that the Xring O1 scored over 3 million points on the AnTuTu benchmark, surpassing the Snapdragon 8 Elite. It scored over 3,000 single-core and 9,000 multi-core points on Geekbench 6, beating Apple’s A18 Pro in multi-core performance.
The Xring O1 supports the latest LPDDR5T RAM, UFS 4.1 storage, USB 3.2 Gen2, Wi-Fi 7, and a custom 3-core Xiaomi ISP. Overall, the specs look very promising. If the chip performs well, it could compete strongly against major chip makers like Qualcomm and MediaTek.
Now, let’s look at the phone’s key specs. As mentioned, it’s very similar to the Xiaomi 15 Pro. It features a 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED screen with QHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The phone has a triple camera system on the back. It includes three 50MP sensors—ultrawide, wide, and a 5x periscope lens—great for photography. It packs a 6,100mAh battery made of silicon carbon and charges at 90W wired. The device runs Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2, which is based on Android 15. It’s available in black and blue.
Pricing starts at CNY 5,499 ($763 / PKR 214K) for the 16GB RAM and 512GB storage model, and the top-tier version with 1TB costs CNY 5,499 ($832 / PKR 234K). The phone is currently only available in China with the new chip. Xiaomi plans to launch it in other markets after gathering user feedback. If all goes well, the phone will be available elsewhere soon.
