Xiaomi plans to launch its new Xiaomi 16 series of flagship phones later this year in China. Before the official announcement, leakster Smart Pikachu shared some interesting details about the upcoming phones. While the tipster didn’t give an official name, clues point to a launch likely happening in September. The new device is expected to feature innovative specs, including the first smartphone with the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 processor and a large battery.
Xiaomi 16 Launch Date, Specs (rumored)

According to the leak, the Xiaomi 16 will be the first phone to use the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chipset. It is also said to have a 6,800mAh battery with 100W fast charging. This matches earlier reports that the Xiaomi 16 will include the latest bigger battery inside a 6.3-inch screen phone.
The Xiaomi 15 (Chinese model) has a 5,400mAh battery with 90W charging. The Xiaomi 16’s battery and charging setup will be larger than similar phones. For comparison, the OnePlus 13T has a 6,260mAh battery and 80W charging in a 6.3-inch model. The upcoming Vivo S30 Pro Mini (China) or Vivo X200 FE (India, its rebranded version) is said to have a 6,500mAh battery with 90W charging.
Smart Pikachu also shared that the Xiaomi 16 will have a 6.3-inch flat OLED screen with very slim bezels all around. It should run on Android 16 with the new HyperOS 3.0 interface.
Rumors say the Xiaomi 16 will feature a 50-megapixel triple camera setup. It will include a periscope telephoto lens. Despite its large battery, the phone is expected to be slim and lightweight.
There are also reports that both the Xiaomi 16 and Xiaomi 16 Pro will launch this year. The Xiaomi 16 Ultra should arrive later, in the first half of 2026.
