Xiaomi has launched the Mix Flip 2, its latest clamshell foldable in the Mix series. While the overall design is not that different from before, the Mix Flip 2 brings notable enhancements in engineering, performance, and usability. There is also a redesigned hinge, upgraded display technology, and higher battery capacity.
Design and Display
The Mix Flip 2 features a compact foldable form factor, and the new hinge mechanism is built around a three-link, four-float plate structure. It allows the device to close with minimal gap and reduces the crease on the internal screen. The outer display has been slightly enlarged and now extends further into the bezels, offering a more seamless interface. The internal folding screen retains its 6.86-inch diagonal size.
Both screens on the Mix Flip 2 support a 120Hz refresh rate and cover the P3 color space. The brightness can reach 3,200 nits. Touch response is faster too, with the inner screen supporting a 300Hz touch sampling rate and the outer screen at 120Hz. The phone comes in four colors: Lattice Gold, Shell White, Nebula Purple, and Plum Green.

Internals and Software
The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. This chip improves performance and reduces heat better than older models. A dual vapor chamber cooling system helps manage heat during long gaming sessions and heavy use.
Memory options include 12GB of RAM with 256GB or 512GB of storage, and a premium version with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The Mix Flip 2 runs Xiaomi’s HyperOS 2, a customized software designed for foldable phones. It makes multitasking and using both screens easier.
Cameras
The camera system has been changed from the older dual-lens zoom. Now, it features a 50MP wide-angle camera with a 1/1.55-inch OV50E sensor and an f/1.7 lens. The second camera is a 50MP ultrawide with a 14mm lens and an f/2.2 aperture, autofocus, and macro mode, which can focus as close as 5cm.
On the front, the phone has a 32MP selfie camera. It can record 4K videos, great for video calls and social media.

Battery and Pricing
The battery capacity is now 5,165mAh, up from 4,780mAh in the previous model. It supports 67W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
Prices start at $836 for the 12GB + 256GB version. The 12GB + 512GB model is $906. The top model, with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, costs $1,000. Each package includes a USB-C cable, a 67W charger, and a two-piece protective case.
