YouTube is expanding the reach of its dedicated community feature to more content creators. The initiative seeks to provide a greater number of creators with the chance to engage directly with their audiences on the platform, without relying on external platforms like Discord. This feature was first introduced during last year’s Made for YouTube event. The YouTube Community feature is currently available exclusively on mobile devices.
The new feature allows creators to share both text and image-based posts and interact with their audiences in a way that goes beyond just uploading videos. Additionally, fans have the opportunity to initiate conversations under these posts, creating a space where creators and viewers can engage more personally and casual manner.

YouTube said in a recent post that they have been testing the feature with a small group of creators, who have given positive feedback. This prompted them to continue expanding access.

YouTube is not only introducing the Community feature but is also implementing modifications to its current Community tab. The tab will be rebranded as “Posts,” while still fulfilling its primary function of sharing updates and announcements to the audience. Creators can still share content, and viewers will continue to engage through comments. This change is intended to clarify the difference between the older feature and the new Community space, enhancing the overall user experience.
YouTube will reportedly invite some creators to utilize the new Community feature. These creators will be notified via email and will also see a banner notification on their YouTube app channel page. The invitation will encourage them to “Go to Community,” where they can learn more information and the option to activate the feature. After activation, creators can manage and moderate their Community Hub directly from the YouTube Studio app, a one-stop location for all activities on their channel. Fans will benefit from suggested replies, enhancing the ease of engagement.
YouTube’s initiative to expand the Community space is a step toward bringing creators and fans closer, offering a more integrated platform for interaction and sharing. As this feature evolves, we can expect to see even more vibrant exchanges on the platform, enriching the experience for both creators and their followers. If you are a creator, keep an eye out for your invitation!
